oh my goodness! We must have a weather report!

Ok, so you should know I do geek a bit about the weather. I love to follow statistics and like facts over emotion. So! You should see this winter!!!

We have had almost no snow.

Last night, it snowed about 1.5 inches. This morning, it began to rain and the temperature wnet above freezing. The snowfall that lay upon the ground became mottled. By 10 or 11 it was gone. We have no snow lying upon the ground.

Now I know this has happened before. I distinctly remember as a child of 11 riding my bike on the grassy lawn in January. But it is rare to see this.

I think a statistical link from the NWS is warranted.

And for all that we've had that dramatic 6 inches of snow in January, we have watched it melt within days of falling.

This is one of my favorite snowfall data sites because it shows that snowfall can be all over the place statistically.

Given that my school used 4 of its 5 snow days due to flooding in Greene county (way back in September) this has been a blessing.

First Post New Year!!!!!

In this post I get to lay down my intention for this year, share a cool saying Dana came up with for her intention, talk about the beauty of friends and the awesomeness of my new ladder.

New Year's Eve at Shelly's! We just ate a lot, had a little wine, chattered, played some geek game that I got caught up in....played with lil M (she got Mousetrap and we had to assemble it). Before we knew it, the ball was dropping on Times Square.

Happy New Year!

Here's my intention, and it's all stream of consciousness, but I figure it's from the heart and that gives it power:

My intention this year is to make peace with myself.

It’s simple really. I will accept who I am, as I am.

I will accept the burdens and the blessings of those who came before me with an open heart and an open mind.

I will allow Grace to follow me, I will open my heart to the voice inside that is eternal.

I will not make war with perfection.

What is, will be, as it is.

Today was productive and uplifting (I think that's a subconscious pun relating to the ladder). Shelly and Christine came over to assist on the fascia repair job. I used my ladder that I got for Christmas from Mom and the skills I have from being my father's daughter to tack up the fascia and make it secure. It had come off several years ago and left a gaping area at the soffit where water could seep in. So now it's up and fantastic. I just felt so good being able to fix this and not need someone to do it for me. I'm up there and I say: "I bet Lady Gaga has never done something like this." So I was so happy to have the assist!!!

On FB Dana added this expression: "Be the Best Version of Yourself". I love it! I want to be my personal best. I want to keep asking myself, when i am tempted to indulge, are you being the best you could be? I think it's a good self check, but at the same time...I think "make peace with yourself", understand that perfection is not attainable in this lifetime, it's only an inspiration to ascend, not something this soul is yet ready to do.
